CSS Alumni Themed Challenge Hop

Hey there! Welcome to the Simplicity Sparkles Challenge Blog Hop, Carolina has come up this fun challenge, create a CAS card or project. Use only embellishments that sparkle. (glitter, rhinestones, etc.  I couldn't resist playing.  You should have arrived here from the very talented Cheri.

Make sure to leave a comment as you go along because we will choose a random comment and that stamper will win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! Look for the announcement on Tuesday, April 2.

I have to tell you CAS cards are a bit of a challenge for me as I never seem to know when to quit. Ha! But I really like the look of them and want to make more of them. For this first card I made a single layer using Gina's Pure Luxury White heavy weight  card stock. Using Theresa Momber's newest stamp set, " The Northwoods" by Gina K. Designs.
I just love this set and the sentiment I used was my inspiration, I kept thinking somewhere over the rainbow is a place for us. I know, silly huh?  Anyway I used Memento to sponge in my background and added the trees, using a small dauber, I sponged in a little green to the trees. Added small dots with a white gel pen to the trees. My sparkle is some small rhinestone flowers.
If you click on the photo you may get a larger view of it.

For this card I used the "The Northwoods" set again, just different trees and sentiment. I first stamped the trees using Gina's "Fresh Asparagus" ink pad, then added some YG13 to some of the branches.
The card stock is by GKD pure luxury heavy weight.

Along with my order came this adorable mini set "Birthday Hoot" FREE ! Yep, she gave everyone that ordered from this last release this adorable set. The sentiment which "Hope your birthday is a Hoot! I stamped inside of my card. The main image of the owl I colored with Copic's, I then masked off the balloons and sponged them with GKD "Ocean Mist" and "Innocent Pink" ink pads and stampin-up! Lavender Lace. Card stock and ribbon is GKD. Even though the ribbon has a beautiful sheen, I added some Diamond Stickles for a little more sparkle. Thank You Gina for this adorable set!!

Hope you enjoy the hop and you can find the entire list of the hop at Stamp TV.
Next up is the so creative Joy

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.
P.S. My camera doesn't do sparkle!! But it's there.

Here is what I came up with. Feeling inspired by the colors and the basket makes me think of spring.
The image and sentiment is from Theresa Momber's stamp set "Elegant Florals" by Gina K. Designs.
The ribbon and card stock is by GKD, pure luxury white and innocent pink. The border die's are by Spellbinders.

I also was inspired to make this little gift box. I followed a tutorial by Theresa Momber. You can find it here. The cute images and sentiment are from Melanie Muenchinger "Basket Blessings" by Gina K. Designs. Card stock and ribbon is by GKD. I colored the bear with Copic's and paper pieced the rest of the image.

SOTW at Repeat Impressions

Hi there! This week at Repeat Impression we are featuring this gorgeous stamp " Bodie's Island Light" #3004. For a limited time you can purchase this stamp at half off. All the info and code can be found here at Repeat Impression blog The House That Stamps Built.

Today I have two samples to show you. For the first one here, I went with a window scene. I have made several like this and wanted to add it to my collections. I just love this look, sorry my score lines didn't show up well in my photo but it you click on the photo it may show better. I sponged in my back ground and the image was colored with Copic's. I just drew in the little birds.

My  second card,  I went with a simple nautical scene. The back ground was sponged in with Memento's and the image was colored with Copic's. I used post-it notes to mask off the light beams. Again my score lines didn't show up in the photo. I guess I should give up on doing them, even though I like how they look on a card.

Please check out some of the other teams cards for  more inspiration on using this gorgeous stamp.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.
