Blog Hop/Card Drive For Lauryn!

Isn't this little girl just precious? Let me introduce you....
Lauryn was diagnosed with Leukemia on March 27, 2014. She is currently hospitalized in the DC area undergoing chemotherapy to fight this terrible disease.  Lauryn is Linda Payne's granddaughter...many of you in the stamping community probably already know sweet Linda!

As news of Lauryn's illness spread via social media, many of you have asked if there is anything you can do to help, so we have come up with a plan. We decided to have a Card Drive and would like to invite YOU to help by sending "happy mail" to Lauryn and her family.

Please create cards to share your love and encouragement for Lauryn and her family. Lauryn's parents are Josh and Elizabeth and she has two older siblings: Lily and Logan. We thank the Lord for this dear family and need to pray for them as they are seeking to glorify the Lord throughout this trial.

Cards can be mailed to:

You can find updates on Lauryn via a Facebook page that has been set up by some family. It is Fight on Little Lauryn. They have shared how encouraging it is receive a simple "like" on a Facebook status or words of love and encouragement that is posted.
Here is the fabulous group of bloggers who have joined us in promoting this Card Drive. We would love for you to hop with us as numerous bloggers have blog candy and all you need to do is leave a comment…

DCC Challenge - Easter Card

Hi there! Here it is time for Repeat Impressions Designer's Choice Challenge and this week super talented Joy is hosting and her challenge is to make a Easter card. This the first card I have made in a month and thought it might hard but using this adorable bunny image made it easy. Hope you can join us , you can find all the info at Repeat Impressions blog The House That Stamps Built.

The image is " Clover Bunny" #702  and the sentiment is "Beauty of Springtime #1304 both are by Repeat Impressions. I colored the image with Copic's, I could just see this bunny smelling the sweet clover so I colored in the eyes and using my black Memento mark drew in some lashes to make them look closed and  then created a patch of grass with Copic markers.
The leaves are from a die by Spellbinders and colored with Copic's as well. I only inked part of the sentiment saving the Happy Easter for the inside of the card as shown below.

Inside of card.

Be sure to see the beautiful creations the rest of the team has to share with you.

Thank for stopping by and have a great day!

What If Wednesday? Sketch Challenge at Repeat Impressions

Hi there!
Are you as happy to see April as I am? So ready for warm sunny days!! Meantime how about a great sketch challenge that Wendy of Repeat Impressions has created for us.  Hope you can join us and play along. All the info can be found at Repeat Impressions blog " The House That Stamps Built"

I don't make many masculine cards but they are sure fun to make as they make me think outside the box as I tend to get stuck in a rut.
Anyhow I used this delightful image from Repeat Impressions. "Rainbow Trout" #2909 and stamped it three times and colored it with Copic's, then cut them out. The sentiment are dies from Spellbinders, which I  made two of each letter on card stock in the light and a dark green then glued them together just moved the letter slightly to give it depth. Sponged with Memento. I used a black Memento marker to draw the stringer line.

Be sure to check out the rest of my teams beautiful creations.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I love that I can share it with you. You are so appreciated!!

DCC Challenge - Flower Show!

Hi there!
Time for the Designer's Choice Challenge here at Repeat Impressions. This week the very talented rock star Cheri is hosting and her challenge is "Flower Show" ( use some flowers on card or project).
We would to have you join us and you can find all the info on playing along at Repeat Impressions blog The House That Stamps Built.

Flowers are my favorite images to color. I used a beautiful new image to me "Hydrangea" #9205 and the sentiment is "Beautiful Days" #9206  both stamps are by Repeat Impressions. I stamped the hydrangea twice and colored with Copic's. The die's are Spellbinder's. I cut out some of the flowers from the second colored image for embellishments and added some to the first image for more dimension.

For a wonderful taste of spring, check out the rest of my teamates.

Thank for stopping by and have a great day.

Repeat Impressions Project-Hinged Card

Hi there! I wanted to share with you one of a few versions of a Hinge style card. First you would make your folded card base the size you want or what will work with the size of your image. My finished card is 5 1/2" X 5". From the top fold you will need to score across the width of what you want your hinge or panel to be. I scored mine at 1 inch down. This can be either a side opening or top which ever you perfere. Next you will glue from the top fold to your score line across, being careful not to glue on the score line.. So that when you open the card it only opens from the score line, I guess that is where it get it's name. I'm not the greatest at explaining things so I hope this makes sense. I added a few photo's to help. Then decorate as you wish.
To make this card I used Repeat Impressions gorgeous "Butterfly"(lg) #6104 and the vertical sentiment is "Birthday Vertical" #6104.
The butterfly was colored with Copic's # BG000, BG10 and B66 and cut out.
The DP is MME.
Pop-dots for a 3-D look.

Score along the front of your card the width you want, my is scored at about 1 inch from the fold at the top of card.

Glue down the hinge portion with glue, I used score tape.

Here is a closer view of my 3-D butterfly.

Here is another hinge style card using the same butterfly image in different colors and doing the split screen technique, which is a image divided. I colored and cut out the image and glued it to a piece of DP. Then cut it into three equal pieces and glued it in place on some card stock. The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions "Flutter By" #9005

Another view.

Be sure to check the other teammates projects each week, always fun and Repeat Impressions have a challenge every week that you can join in and have a chance to win some fabulous prizes, you can find the challenges at The House That Stamps Built. We love to see your artwork as well.

Thanks for stopping by and a great day.
