DCC Challenge at Repeat Impressions

Hi there!  We got just back from a very relaxing week at the coast. Had a great time and even spent a little time at my daughter Brenda's and that was a lot of fun. Well, fall is sure here now, had to turn the cooler off and and switch on the heater.
Brenda is hosting this weeks Designers Choice Challenge here at Repeat Impressions. "Happy Fall Y'all! " I love fall colors so this was right up my ally. We would love for you to join us and see what you come up with. You can find all the info  at Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built.

For my card I used this gorgeous Repeat Impressions "Cornucopia" #908. Colored with Copic's and sponged with Memento.

Be sure to check out the rest of the teams amazing cards.

Happy Fall Y'all and thanks for stopping by.

Magic Mondays With Repeat Impressions

Hi there!
I'm really excited to share my first Project of the Week with you for The House That Stamps Built .

Sanding the Edges of Your Die Cutouts.

I almost always use dies for my cards and one of the ways to enhance the look is to sand the edges.
Using just about any printed DP or solid card stock with a core color, such as white ( Tim Holtz has some solid color CS with a Kraft core) that works really great also. Pretty much the same way with embossing folders. Click on the photo for a closer view.

After you decide on your DP, cut and emboss using a die or dies. I used Spellbinders label #4 sm
then remove from the die, laying it flat, sand around the edges, I use a manicure filing block as I find  it is easier to keep even sanding. The back panel I only embossed using blue painters tape to hold it in place and Spellbinders A2Matting Basics B. Remove the tape and die then sand as the front panel. For my card I put the die on the back side of the side I wanted to sand.
Here is a photo of the dies and sanding block.

I stamped the images out in Memento black ink and cut them out.
Supplies used:
"Cupcakes" # 9302 by Repeat Impressions
Dp is Reunion by MME
Card stock by GKD
Spellbinders "Label four" sm. and "A2 Matting Basics B
Copic markers: Cherries, R27, E23. Icing: E53, E31, E35, YR21. Cupcake:E31, E27, E11
Manicurist filing block
Memento Black
Glue
Blue Painter's tape to hold my Dies in place.

Hope you liked my project and have a great day

I'm not ready for summer to be over and trying to make it last even though signs of fall are starting to make it's marks. I hope you have been having fun this summer.
I used this cute image and sentiment from Repeat Impressions "Summer Clothesline" #9017 and "Happy Summer" #9003.
I just love the smell of sheets that have dried on the line and yes I do have a clothesline.
I colored the image with Copic's and sponged with memento's.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

CSS Inspiration Challenge Blog Hop

Hi there! Welcome to our September inspiration blog hop brought to us by Joy! Thanks Joy for this beautiful photo. I'm not ready to say goodbye to summer yet but I do love the fall colors.  You should have arrived here from the super talented Cheri.

I was going through my stamps the other day and realized I have a lot of gorgeous stamps that are not being used that I love.
Using Gina K. Designs " A Farm Life" illustrated by Theresa Momber. I was inspired by the colors going with soft fall colors.  I love this image and sentiment, so great for a birthday or anniversary cards. I made this for my DH birthday.
The card stock is by Gina K. Designs, sponged the background with Memento inks and colored with Copic's and Prisma Pencils.

The next stop along the way is the ever so creative Joy. If you would like to join us, we would love to see how the photo inspired you. You can find the entire blog hop list at Stamp TV.
