DCC Challenge At Repeat Impressions

Hi there! Happy New Year!!! Hope you all have a safe and wonderful start to the new year!
Nothing like a challenge to start the new year, right!! I'm asking for you to make a card or project using something new to you. It can be anything that is new to you, I went with a technique I have been wanting to try, Chalkboard technique. Yep this is my first one. Hope you can join us and have a chance to win a  prize. You can find all the info here at The House That Stamps Built.

I started out with this chalkboard paper I found at Michaels. Using four different Repeat Impression images "Happy New Year" #3804, "Holly Sprig" #307, "Martini" #9304 and " Fireworks" #9014.
I stamped all the images except the fireworks in VersaMark and embossed it using white embossing powder. I then stamped the fireworks in Colorbox white and stamping off twice before stamping on the paper, so as to make it look as in the background. Added some red stones, then matted it on white and red card stock.

The team has came up with some wonderful cards that are sure to inspire you.

Have great day and thanks for stopping by.

For my card I used two of Repeat Impressions stamps "Shepherd Boy" #2008 and the sentiment is " May The Miracle…" # 2202, I just love this image and sentiment!! This is a single layer by using 120 lb. card stock (so my ink won't bleed through). I used Copic's to color the image. Sponged in some Memento Summer Sky. Added Stickles for the star and whiter marker for the lambs.
Be sure to see the wonderful creations the rest of the team has to share.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

For my sample I went with some of the colors I saw in the photo . I used two Gina K. Design stamp sets, illustrated by Theresa Momber. "The tree image is from "The Giving Tree" and the snowman and sentiment are from "Let It Snow". I sponged in the background with Memento's ink and all card stock is by Gina K. Designs. The snowman was colored with Prisma pencils and then cut out. Paper pieced the hat band and tie. Then added red strips with a marker to the broom handle. Added a bow with twine and used a white gel pen for the stars and the snow on the tree.

Next stop along the way is another of my talented friends, Joy. If you want to start at the beginning of the hop, you can find it here at Stamp TV.

My Project for Repeat Impressions

Good morning! I'm back with a new project for Repeat Impressions. I  thought I would share a couple of ways to make a base for cards dies using with fancy lace borders. My daughter Theresa showed me this easy way to attach a base using Spellbinder's Majestic Labels #25. In this sample  a shaped card. where the lacy border  is covered by the base. After assembling the front of my card using die #6 and #5 and the the front panel is #4. I added my sentiment and my stamped and cut out the poinsettia's, I set it aside.

For the base : Use a 6 1/2 by 8 1/2 , score and fold along the 8 1/2 side
of cream colored card stock and placed the folded side just below where the top of my card would be and cut it out using just the #6 die, as shown in photo. Glue the back of front panel to the front of folded base.

Here is a view of the side

I used pop-dots under the top panel and flowers.

This last card is a card I made earlier this year and in this one, using  die #6 for the base. In this sample the base is glued to the front  along top lacy portion, leaving a open lacy border. Cut two and emboss. I did a score line just under the lacy top border ( so you can open the card) on one of them and glued just the top lace parts together. The front of the card was made using a piece of MME DP and die #5 cut and embossed it. Using very vanilla CS cut and emboss #3 and #4. I then sponged a little memento ink and attached my cut out images.

A side view.

I hope I have inspired you and here is a list of supplies used.
Card one:
Stamps by Repeat Impressions, "Christmas… " #2218 and "Poinsettia" #2012
Spellbinders: Majestic Labels #25
TH Vintage photo and Memento Toffee Crunch
Tiny pearls, pop-dots, stickles and glue.
Card # two
Repeat Impressions "Swan Love" #4321
 Spellbinders: Radiant Rectangles
Memento New Sprout ink
ribbon, pearls, pop-dots and glue

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

DCC Challenge at Repeat Impressions

Hi there! How things going for you all? How about a fun challenge at Repeat Impressions? This week Melissa is asking us to make a snow fun card or project. Hope you can join us as we would love to see your creations.
You can find all the info for this challenge at Repeat Impressions blog The House That Stamps Built.

For my sample I did a snow globe. I got these at Michaels last year and are real easy to make. Just add your photo and water and it's ready to go.
I used Repeat Impressions " Let it Snow Chorus Line" #2017, this stamp has five snow people which was longer than my space so I cut out two to fit the globe. I did the same on the reverse side using the other images.

One side

Side two

I tried to capture a photo of the snow swirling around. Not the best photo but you get the idea. LOL

For more inspiration using this fun challenge check out the rest of the teams ideas.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.
